HUGHIN
OUTPLAYED
The switch to a
smaller pitch proved made no difference to the end result as City outplayed
Hughin in every department. The final score of 3-0 was the sole black mark
on an otherwise fantastic performance. A change to the forward line up saw
Matt Banks partner Fred in attack. Matt has shown an eagerness to show his
goal scoring talents and so was given a full 90 minutes to put his money
where is mouth is. He was not slow in telling us what he thought of his
first goal and must have thought a hat full was on the cards. In the end it
proved to be his only goal as Fred grabbed a brace. The final score may not
have done justice to the overall dominance of City but at least Matt got a
chance to show the rest of the team what he keeps telling us about. Although
I don't remember him saying he could hit the ball 50 ft in the air from the
edge of the box.
CITY RIDE THEIR LUCK
BUT HOLD ON TO BEAT ASHFORD
It was backs to the wall stuff at
times but in the end 3 superbly taken goals against a dodgy penalty and
slack marking was the difference. Ashford played their usual way of trying
to intimidate the ref which eventually worked. This time City were more than
up for the challenge and should have won by more. Steve Jones scored the
opening two goals in the first half followed by one form Darren in the
second. Late pressure from Ashford as they threw everything in the box saw
them score from a dubious penalty and one from a set piece. A very
satisfying victory against one of the best sides we play against and one of
the worst tempered players.

SATURDAY'S
GAME IS OFF
Unfortunately the
match against St Lukes has been called off due to St Lukes not being able to
raise a team. Efforts were made to find replacement opposition but none
could be found.
