11TH WIN IN A ROW AS GLEN ROVERS AWAIT

Slayer took their straight victory run to eleven with a convincing 6-2 win over Hythe. The pitch and conditions were reminiscent of the Elham game two weeks prior but this didn't prevent another good footballing display. The first half saw Slayer get into rhythm quite early on and Andre settled any nerves with a slide rule, left foot drilled effort. Several chances came and went until Fred doubled the lead, leaping like a white and silver booted salmon to score with a great header from a set piece! Andre weighed in with his second of the match to make it 3-0 at the break. The second half was a closer affair in score line if not possession, seeing Slayer dominate the play to score another 3 goals however conditions, an unfortunate bounce, a misplaced pass and a minor concentration lapse allowed the home side to reply with 2 of their own.

Of the Slayer goals, Fred got his second and more opportunities besides! Ian netted a cracking, top quality strike, which was the pick of the bunch and after some quality refereeing from Hythe's very own 'Snowy' Julian stepped up to confidently convert a spot kick for his first ever Slayer goal. Given the conditions, it was another good passing, hard fought team effort deserving of the margin of victory.

Julian was named man of the match for his first Slayer goal he did also produce some fine saves during the game. Credit should also be given to Ian who's tireless running was superb on a pitch which was very sticky to say the least.
