According to the BBC Sport guide to football, Mark Cooper has advanced the game to a whole new level. The BBC suggest that 'good attacking football starts with the defence.   Scoring is important but your manager will be just as happy to see you stopping a goal.  Full-backs, who play on either side of the defence, have quite a varied role.  Their main job is to stop the opposition attacking in wide areas and to support the central defenders.  And the modern defender will often venture beyond the halfway line - unheard of until relatively recently.  They play an important role in supporting their team's own attack by pushing forward to supply crosses.'   And in Mark Coopers world, they even score goals!  That's right, Coops has popped his Slayer cherry.  He has unleashed the dragon.  He is on the score sheet.  Fellow full back Nick Thomson also put one in the back of the net.  So did Steve Jones (twice) and Nick Saunders.  And of course Fred (twice).  'Who hasn't scored?' asked Fred in the final few minutes of the game.

It was a grey day on the cowfield and the rain was torrential.  Slyaer were off to a slow start, with Bookers hitting the post in the first few minutes.  But the Slayer boys found their form and held firm.  With some composed passing and decisive play, Slayer went ahead around thirty minutes into the game, taking it to three nil by half time.  The second half got off to a great start with another two Slayer goals.  Then Nick Thomson and Mark Cooper made it six and seven.  Looks like good attacking football can also end with the defence.  What were the goals like?  Ask someone with eyes.  And who won man of the match?  Well that's pretty obvious.  Nice one Coops.
